Best Commodity Futures iPhone Tracker Apps

Apps, apps, apps. What do we love most about smart phones? The apps! Smart phone applications are everywhere and can do just about anything except make you breakfast, but I’m sure even that app is in development.

The first question I get from every new iPhone owner is what apps should I download? Having the right apps is especially important for investors and traders. Investors are always looking to increase their productivity and have the most recent prices just a click away no matter where they are at or what they are doing.

So for all the commodity traders out there, this one is for you. No longer will you be stuck using the very limited Stocks iPhone app. Allow to present the best iPhone apps for commodities and futures traders.

BlackGold – FREE

Easy and simple, this is the best way to describe BlackGold for the iPhone. I would recommend this app for the beginner or someone looking for the absolute most basic commodities tracker out there. BlackGold shows the prices and charts for gold, crude and heating oil, gasoline and natural gas. For the absolute most basic of commodity trackers, BlackGold does its job and does it well. And hey, with the free price tag you may even find yourself having enough extra dough to buy gold.

iFutures – $2.99

iFutures is the crème de la crème of commodities futures trackers for iPhones. iFutures allows the user to track up to 100 different contracts in 8 different markets. Personally, I love that the app allows you to customize your chart with indicators and overlays. While the iFutures app has a lot of great features it also comes with its share of problems and has received a lot of negative reviews because of application bugs. For only $2.99, iFutures is a decent contender for best commodity tracker.

FuturesLive – $3.99

FuturesLive is another full function futures iPhone app with a lot of features. My favorite thing about this app are the charts, they are detailed, precise and crisp. Of course, as with the other futures apps we’ve reviewed, this one comes with its share of bugs but what app doesn’t these days? FuturesLive is currently selling in iTunes for $3.99.

These are only a few of the financial tracker choices currently available in the iTunes store. There are others that track stocks as well for combined portfolio tracking. My suggestion is try a few of the free apps first and see if they meet your needs.
